  My wife and I stopped in for lunch and were a bit uneasy at first because the building needs attention and the cleanliness could be better but the friendliness of the staff and attention to our needs made our reservations dissappear. We ordered burgers because that seemed a "safe" option. A gentleman brought us a plate of tasty hush puppies right out of the fryer along with a piece of coffee cake for desert. We ordered neither, they just treat you that good. The burgers and fries were good. When we were leaving he asked where we were from and if we ever had their Tomales. When we said no he quickly returned with a paper bag and told us to come back some time. When we got to the car we found he had given us 5 hot Tomales for the trip. We will return if we find ourselves in Newport and you should too.

  Best smoked bologna I've had. I know, you're thinking smoked Bologna??? Believe me, I thought the same thing... But once you try it you amazed at how good it is. Lackey's smokehouse BBQ brings the fat kid every adult... The more you see and taste the more you want to eat. The combination of smoked meat and smoked mac & cheese along with the coleslaw fantastic! Anything Hot Mama makes I would eat.
